Human Activities on the MurrayUnlike countries like Venice, Australians do not live on the Murray. However, Human Activities exist on the Murray including fishing and transport. Because of the lack of an estuary, ships cannot enter the Murray from sea. Today, most activity is recreational including boating, water skiing, fishing, and paddle steaming. Houseboats are common, both commercially owned and hired. Because Australia is a very quiet country, the main activities don't necessarily lie in the river. Activities on the side of the river include National Parks, Golfing, Camping, as well as Restaurants.
