Human Activities on the Murray

Unlike countries like Venice, Australians do not live on the Murray.  However, Human Activities exist on the Murray including fishing and transport.

Because of the lack of an estuary, ships cannot enter the Murray from sea.  Today, most activity is recreational including boating, water skiing, fishing, and paddle steaming.  Houseboats are common, both commercially owned and hired.

Because Australia is a very quiet country, the main activities don't necessarily lie in the river.  Activities on the side of the river include National Parks, Golfing, Camping, as well as Restaurants.

Golfing is a great thing to do off the river Tour up and down the Murray in boats Fishing! Watch out for catch limits because fines can be very heavy! Water skiing is what Aussie's are good at!  Join the fun!
